May Picture Post

At Jason's administrative assistant's wedding. We love Alida and Skye!

Russ and Erica's little man, R.

A few more dance pics that friends sent me.

Cousin love at Hayley's dance recital.

More Purple Panthers soccer...

Jax's bubbles & balloon party at the end of school.

"I don't know how to put this, but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me." - Ron Burgundy.

Last day of school. He and his sister cried the whole way home and then moped the rest of the day. :(

Hayden's last swim lessons with Mr. Kem. So sad! Love this man and what he taught my babies. A bit of fun trivia... his son is Josh Morrow who plays Nicholas Newman on Young and the Restless.

Twinsies.

Had a blast with Jenny & Becca doing the Insane Inflatable 5K at ORU. Nasty, muddy, but so much fun! Our team name was Trifecta Tarts. Ha.

A few more pics of the Jenks Bombers' last game...

Last game of the Purple Panthers' inaugural season. These little ladies were precious. And really good!

Finally, some random pics of Em I found on the school website...

Heard Around Here Lately...

Hayden and I played Go Fish with made-up rules, and she ran the tables on me. Her comment afterwards? "I can't believe I just smoked a 36-year-old!"

We were driving by a car dealership when Jax looked over at a truck and told me he might buy it when he's big. "But first, Mommy, I need to make sure it's good on gas mileage, safety, and ice." Someone's been having car conversations with his Daddy.

March/April Picture Post

Tryin' to catch up!

My favorite people in the world...

Fun at Grammy and Grandpa's in Muskogee

Em made a faux cast and had us all sign it.

Jax's birthday celebration in kindergarten. Hammin' it up. Also why are his socks rolled?

Our 2nd annual Muskogee Easter celebration at my parents' with Grandma, Pa-Pa, Uncle Trav, Matt, and all the cousins.

Reading the clues for the scavenger hunt.

Jax's family birthday celebration. How is he 6?

This is how big he should still be.

All of them, really. They should still be standing in this crib together being silly. *sob*

Celebrating Pa-Pa and Daddy's birthdays at their house!

Jax's friend party at Lifetime. Swimming and baseball cookies!

Mr. N's posse.

Dance Recital 2015

The girls had a great year at Miss Shelly's! This was Hayden's first year to dance . . . oh my goodness, I just love a 4-yr-old tap/ballet class. And Emerson did tap/jazz with Miss Megan. Loved her.

It would've been too easy for them to be in the same recital! Hayden danced at 1:30, we went to Daddy's office to eat and get Em ready before hers, and she danced at 5:00. What a long day downtown!

Sauce was just a wee bit excited for hair and makeup in our bathroom.

Playing with her friend A before their dance.

Em and Miss S, a friend from Jax's kindergarten class. As Emerson put it, "Mom, I'm pretty famous with the kindergarten girls."

Here they are in all their dancin' glory.

Piano Recital

Our eldest played piano this year. Her fantastic teacher Mrs. Chung was such a delight . . . so patient and kind and precious. Mommy at home, helping Emerson practice? Not so patient and kind and precious. Ha!

She progressed beautifully despite us not having much time to squeak practices in, given our hectic schedule. I always hoped at least one of my kiddos would play, and she's creating a 3rd generation of pianists.

I was so proud of this girl at her recital last weekend!

One of her besties, Natalie, also takes from Mrs. Chung. How cute are these lil' ladies?! Love 'em.

Spring Sports - Part 2

Our second (and by far busiest) sport of spring is baseball! This is Jax's first experience playing. We had so many friends tell us to skip tee ball, and I think it was the right decision for him. Coach pitch has been so much fun to watch! Our friend Dave is head coach, and Jason and Pa-Pa are assisting.

My friend Allie and I are dugout moms. We try not to let our blood pressure get out of control while watching our boys play.

They are the Jenks Bombers. And I just love 'em. The growth and improvement they have shown is nothing short of amazing.

That's my little switch hitter. So proud of him. He can flat-out hit the ball.

Jax and Cade. Buddies and crazies.

My #2. Cute lil' baseball buns.

Post-game lovin' at the car.

Three generations of baseball players. The Van Clan.

Sisters have a blast playing with other baseball sisters.

Kid sister with the bunny ears.

You'll notice I've hardly taken any action shots. It's hard to remember to get my camera out when I'm in the dugout! They have one more game... here's to hoping I can capture some good stuff.
