Happy Birthday to Addie!
Emerson & Jax's cousin Addison turns 3 today! I find it really hard to believe, and I know my brother and sister-in-law do, too. She's such a cute & fun little girl, and I'm looking forward to the years ahead as our girls undoubtedly become really close cousins. Now if only I could figure out how to get them to move closer...

View from the front seat
Oh, how I love the snow! Growing up, winter was always my favorite season. I can't say that it's my favorite at this point, but I really do love it. There's nothing like being cozy with snow outside.
On a totally unrelated topic, have you ever tried peanut butter & jelly between two graham crackers? I used to do it as a kid and have revived it as of late. Yum. Especially with raspberry jam.

Snow Day
I think we had close to 5 inches of snow today. It's beautiful outside, but boy am I glad I'm warm and cozy inside. Daddy worked from home today, and Emerson did pretty well not interrupting his office time. I made some paninis for lunch that were amazing. Have I shown a picture of the newest addition to our family? Jason bought it for me for Christmas, and it's freakin' legit. It's an indoor grill that doubles as a panini maker. So wonderfully useful, and we've become good friends over the last month. I'm married to a man who is brutally honest... it's a trait I've grown to love in him. So now, each panini I make, I ask him to critique it. I'm dangerously close to creating the ultimate turkey & swiss panini with pesto. I'll take pictures of the panini maker next time I use it. I promise you'll fall in love.
Emerson had some funny commentary today. Some random things that came out of her mouth:
"Do you hear that, Daddy? That'll be SO MUCH FUN!" - Mind you, Daddy wasn't even in the room at that moment.
"I'm so very, very pretty!" (She doesn't say her r's so well, so it came out as "veddy, veddy" like she's Italian.
"Oooooh, that's Ban-Tastic!"
"I'm the big sister to Bay Gax" (this is how she's always pronounced Baby Jax)
When she tinkles on the potty, she gets a big spoonful of peanut butter... I put her on the potty after her nap, and about a minute later, I heard her chanting "Pea-nut But-TER! Pea-nut But-TER!"
Then my favorite of the day... tonight at dinner, I realized I forgot to give her a vitamin at breakfast, so Daddy said she could eat it after she ate some more soup. After 3 or 4 more good bites, I slid the vitamin to her and said she could have it. She said, "No Mommy, only vitamin after soup." And the good little turkey finished her bowl of soup before she even touched her vitamin.

Children's Place SALE!
My sis-in-law Liz called today to tell me that Children's Place is having a massive sale on pretty much everything left from their winter lines. All I really need right now are PJs for the kids, so I took the natives with me after naptime, and I bought 7 pair of jammies for the two of them, most of which were in sizes they'll grow into. I personally love their pajamas... I think they're pretty good quality for the price and fit nice and snugly like PJs should. And I love a good sale! The best part? I spent $29. Sweet.

I, unfortunately, can't wear anything there. I know that sounds dramatic, like I'm feeling sorry for myself that I'm still trying to lose some baby weight, etc., but it's more about how their clothes are cut. I have shoulders like a linebacker, and even their XLs just don't fit right. The pants? Forgetaboutit.
I told Jason on Monday night that I had found the perfect set of legs. I was watching the Bachelor (by the way, quite possibly one of the best episodes ever... Of all time), and Tenley was sand surfing alongside Jake. I know she's a dancer, and I know I'm never destined to dance professionally (audiences worldwide should heave a sigh of relief right about now), but DANG, her legs are awesome. I paused and had Jason come in the living room to view them. He agreed that they were awesome legs, and then we back-and-forthed until I had him come up with a basic workout regimen that would get my legs like that. After babies, of course. Because what's the point of getting my legs in great shape if I'm just going to gain another 40 pounds? Geesh, I get HUGE while pregnant. Can't wait! Ha! And no, I'm not pregnant. :)
