Cousins
My sister Miley and her baby Avery drove down from Peoria last week. I hadn't seen my sister since Christmas (bah humbug on her living so far away), and it was so much fun getting to meet my newest niece! Avery has the cutest little birdie cry and isn't afraid to let you know when she's hungry... I think she's pretty feisty already! It's a cool thing to watch your little sister enter motherhood and be such a natural at it. I just wish we lived closer so our babies could spend lots of time together. Notice in the picture below Jax and Avery seem to be smitten already. Well, maybe it's a little more like Jax is forcing her to like him. Now that I look more closely, the look on her face is actually one of near-panic. She seems to be saying, 'Maybe if I hold really still, he'll get his chubby little paws off me.'

Bring out the Hellmann's...
and bring out the best! I craved mayo like crazy while pregnant with Jax. There were times I would make a sandwich and *accidentally* put too much mayo on the knife so I could eat it plain. Not kidding you. I was obsessed with it. The poor guy working at Subway in Bixby probably wanted to run when he saw my huge belly come through the door... 'Oh no, there's the large, angry pregnant lady who keeps telling me to add MORE MAYO.' Anyway, I thought Jax's pudgy little self would be a good tribute to the best condiment known to man. I mean, come on, he is Dutch... give him a break.

We love us some Baby H
Harrison is 8 months younger than Emerson, but he's definitely one of her favorite playmates. He's known around our house as Baby H, and probably will be until he turns 18. He's just so stinkin' cute! Today I took Emerson over to our new neighbors' house in the wagon, and she must've remembered riding in the wagon with him once at the pool and at the 4th of July fireworks show, because the first thing she said was, 'Baby H... Sit DOWN.'
Right now, as I type, Emerson is laying down on the office floor amid an entire deck of cards. She's picking them up one by one and saying, 'Hi guys. See ya.' She's a mess.
Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of H and the kids from this past week. Notice the final picture. I'm one of those friends who, when your child is upset, instead of picking them up and comforting them, I use them as a photo op. Ha! Cristin, really, if you decide to never leave your child with me again, I completely understand. :)
