Easter Recap

Hayden's teachers sent this from her egg hunt at preschool. She's fourth from the left, covering her mouth with her basket.

I don't have any pics from Jax's egg hunt yet. Emerson's Easter party was a lot of fun, and Grammy got to come, too. Here is Em with one of her besties, Miss H. How darling is that red hair?!

All of Jason's side of the family came to Grammy and Grandpa's house in Muskogee the day before Easter. Grammy made a wonderful meal for everyone and the kids hunted eggs and played in the backyard. We had beautiful weather to boot.

Grammy had prepared a scavenger hunt for the kids. Emerson and Calvin were so proud to be able to read the clues!

I failed to get a Sunday morning Easter pic of the kids, but I was singing on worship team and had to be at church early. The rest of the day was laid back and refreshing to be able to just be home with our babies and play together.

April is the month of birthdays

Daddy's birthday started it off. Happy 36th, dearest husband!!

Unfortunately, those are the only two pictures I took the whole night. I made his favorite meal and cake, so I am blaming the lack of pictures on my post-cooking daze.

Jaxeyboy was next. It's so hard to believe my boy turned five! We had cousins and god-siblings over for a bounce party. They had a blast and we had really warm weather!

Next up was Pa-Pa. We celebrated at their house with pizza and birthday cake!

The last family bday of the month was sweet Delilah. We had a fun, relaxing cookout at Uncle Trav's house with family and friends.

My goal for May is to eat less cake. That's it.

March Picture Post

Better late than never!

Last snow day of winter. At least it better be.

Jax has some seriously good hiding places around the house.

Hot Sauce and her dimple.

Emerson and Jax learned to ride their bikes with no training wheels last month!

Both girls watching Jax on his bike...

Momma and Emerson on the mailbox, doing shadow poses.

Daisycakes came over for a playdate!!

The bigs sang John 8:12 with flashlights at church. So darling.

Sidewalk chalk at sunset.

A foot race.

Emerson stopped when she realized she was gonna lose!

500

I was about to post some pictures tonight and just noticed that my blog post counter said 500. That's right...this crazy SAHM has posted 500 times since the inception of this little blog of mine.

Some of you might have been here from the beginning, and some of you may be new. Whichever category you fall under, welcome. And thank you for reading.

I have truly enjoyed creating and keeping up with this blog. It'll never be a daily thing... ain't nobody got time for that. (Sweet Brown's voice is in my head). I just love having a place to chronicle pictures, events, and little stories of my life and those I love the most. I think someday my babies will love to take a peek into what life was like when they were tiny. Hopefully I won't embarrass them too much with poop stories and whatnot.

I started back in March of 2009. I was 36 weeks pregnant with Jax, and here is the first picture I ever posted.

Holy cow...that boy was monstrous. Such a torpedo belly!

Many, many belly and baby pictures later, what I blog about has changed and morphed along with our little family. From newborns to having a kindergartner, it's really fascinating to think about how quickly life passes by.

Will I blog forever? Possibly. Or maybe not. Time will tell. But for now, I will finish post 501 in the next few days and keep on keepin' on.

Happy almost-Monday!

Carnivale

On Saturday night, friends of ours from HH invited us to Carnivale, the annual gala to benefit the Tulsa Mental Health Association. One word... fabulous. Getting to dress up in black-tie garb, get a babysitter for the munchkins, and have a night out at a gorgeous event? Ridiculously fun.

Car selfie on the way. I posted on Instagram that I was going on a date with James Bond. He looked so frickin' good.

Walking into the ballroom...fog machine...so cool.

My friend Jamie who invited us! So fun getting to know her hubby Dart and their close friends. Great company!

Confetti drop on the dance floor. Can I just tell you how much fun it was to dance?? It had been a long time since we had danced together. I should clarify that I mean dancing in public. We often break it down at home with impromptu, random dance-offs, but this was 'official' dancing. And it made my feet and shins hurt! I've gotta get out more. Sheesh.

(The next few pics are from the event's photog website... def not from my puny little camera phone).

Thank you Z family for our first Carnivale experience! Loved every bit of it!
