For some reason, this article made me completely lose it last night... hysterical. I'm sure the back story isn't funny, but the hilarity of the situation is too much. Click HERE.

Master Bath Reno
We knew this day would get here, but a shower leak spurred us into action. Our master bathroom is atrocious. Very few people have seen it, and very few people ever want to see it again. It's bad! From the brass fixtures and shower to the ugly ceramic tile to the oak cabinets to the plain-jane countertops and horrible wall texture, it's probably my least favorite place in the house.
We are using a contractor for the job, but the boys did some initial demo last week.
Unfortunately the windows are staying (we're in resale mindset, not make-it-like-we'd-want-it mindset). The huge corner tub is going, however, and I'll be getting my very first claw foot! My kids are gonna miss the 'stage' behind the current tub. Every time they'd take their clothes off for a bath, they'd immediately climb to that area and dance their little naked butts off.
Eeesh. It's just sooo ugly.
Would you believe my husband tore up an entire floor of ceramic tile—heavily glued, mind you—with a hammer? I'm not even joking. The dude is a machine. All while wearing flip flops. Ha! I got in on some of the tile-hammering action. Way fun.
Next up in the reno process was the discovery of mold. We were about 99% sure that's what we would find. Two reasons: 1) The smell. For about 3 weeks this gross smell had invaded our bedroom/bathroom, and we were pretty sure that's what it was. 2) I have been having some pretty freakish neurological things happening to the left side of my face, sometimes twitching in my eyelid (almost two weeks straight in March), sometimes severe cramping in my neck when I yawn, sometimes twitching in my chin. I was getting close to going to a neurologist to be checked out when the smell started and we put two and two together. I'll be anxious to see if everything goes away completely now that the mold is gone.

So here was my inspiration picture from Pinterest:
I love the greige wall color, the marble subway-tile shower, the light grey cabinets, and wood floors. We haven't decided if we'll be doing stained concrete or faux-wood tile (it all depends on the condition of our slab when everything is out of there).
The kids helped us pick the marble slab for the countertops.
Next up was more demo with the help of Russ Scott (or Mr. Russ as my kids call him). He runs our insurance agency, and he is best described as J's partner in crime. They're two peas in a pod. Two totally inappropriate, hysterical, often-genius peas in a pod. And WOW that picture is blurry.

Our contractor Todd with Victory Remodeling showed up Monday morning with his crew. They've done a TON already... I can't wait to take pics after the week is over. Unfortunately the shower tile we ordered has to be shipped from a distribution center, so it's gonna take about 2 weeks to arrive.
My favorite reno picture? The artwork Emerson taped to the bathroom door on Sunday night. I'm assuming this was directed toward her siblings.

June Picture Post
With the cousins to see the Lego Movie at the dollar theater.
Fun times at Hardesty Library.
And again with our friends Natalie & Norah!
Based on these next pics, June must've been the month for sibling love.
One of Emerson's favorite chores is taking the recycling to the garage. Especially when wearing PJs, a lei, and mommy's flip flops.
This one...
VBS at Bixby FUMC. Sauce got to go this year, too! Yay for her! And for mommy!
My phone camera is on the fritz, as evidenced by the blurriness of some of these. Sorry. The bigs went to a 2-day golf camp at Meadowbrook. Thank you, Pa-Pa and Grandma!
Jason got his first hole-in-one!!! So ridiculously proud of him. And at The Patriot, no less. I wish I would've been there to see it.
Em and Jax at Noah's bday party at Lifetime. The rock climbing wall is always a fun place.

The Girls' Room...as finished as it's gonna get
The kids and I were upstairs cleaning this afternoon, and as I looked around the girls' room, I suddenly had a wave of guilt wash over me. I've had a pile of cute pictures, prints, painted wooden items, etc., just sitting on their floor, ready to be pieced together on one of their walls. I even had my good friend Becca take gorgeous close-ups of them that I could blow up and frame above their beds. That was probably about a year ago.
Emerson has all kinds of funny stuff at her table. This is a list of the wild kittens in Grandpa's barn. She didn't want to forget the names she gave them.
Her reading pile beside her bed. That's the rocking chair I had as a little girl. Love that thing.
Sauce's beloved sock monkey.
Today I let that wave of guilt spur me into action. I got the box of tools out and hung a picture above each of their beds, and that's probably as good as it's gonna get! We won't be in this house forever, so I think this little fix will make do. At some point I may do that gallery wall of cuteness. Or I may not. Don't hold your breath.
Here's their little cozy abode. It's the largest room upstairs...perfect for two crazy ladies.
Grammy made the pink chevron curtains. The tissue poms were left over from a few birthday parties.
A few of the details...

And finally, their doll house. Such a fun gift from Grandma and Pa-Pa. This things gets a ton of use.
I love that they share a room. I forced it upon them, but they cheerfully obliged. I think sisters who grow up in the same room form a strong bond. I know that was the case with my sis and me. I can think back on some of our silly times at night when we were supposed to be sleeping, and I almost lose it. So much fun was had!

Potters do Oklahoma
I can't think of much better than my sweet sister and her family coming to Oklahoma! They stayed with Grammy and Grandpa in Muskogee, and we were able to see them each day they were here!!
I had a hard time not stealing this one.
My sister, my BFF for life.
Uncle Eric...really...try to contain your elation. :)
Grammy and Grandpa set up a pool, a slip-n-slide, and a hose...that's about all you need to entertain some cousins.
They would pair up, run down the hill, and jump into the dirty pool...hilarious.

My three think doing chores with Grandpa is about the greatest thing in the world, so he obliged all of the munchkins in the barn one evening.
Oh these babies...so precious and what fun they had together.

Their last day in town we went to the zoo!
